Creating Learner Centred Resources

Overview:
Learner centred strategies require detailed planning and effective deployment of resources if they are to be successful in creating an effective learning experience. A key part of this planning is to provide good quality resources for learners to use that are suited to their level and meet the appropriate learning outcomes. These resources may be developed locally by teachers or sourced externally. This course examines the types.

Indicative course content:
Assessing published resources for local use; open resource sources; identifying resource applications; strengths and limitations of selected resources; digital versus traditional classroom resources; relationship between selected resources and relevant learning theory; creation of sample resources to meet specific needs.
Upon completion of the course participants will be expected to:
- make informed decisions about a range of resource applications
- identify a range of relevant learning resource locations
- Identify the strengths and limitations of a range of teaching / learning resources
- Create and apply a range of learning resources to meet specific learning outcomes
Sessions will have a strong active participation component with facilitators keen to ensure that the experience will be fun and enjoyable as well as educational. . The facilitator has wide experience of delivering this and related courses to clients both in the UK and internationally across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
